Llinás Wins Burroughs Wellcome Award
Congratulations to Manuel Llinás, Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology and the Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics, for winning the Burroughs Wellcome Investigators in Pathogenesis of Infectious Disease Award for Research. The award is designed to provide support, $500,000 over five years, for U.S. and Canadian Scientists at the Assistant Professor Level.

The title of Manuel’s award is: Global analysis of the Plasmodium falciparum metabolome. Manuel’s proposal aims to investigate the metabolic aspect of host-pathogen interactions in the malaria-causing parasite Plasmodium falciparum as a means to identify novel drug targets.
