This year we have been unusually successful with the summer fellowships supported by the New Jersey Commission on Cancer Research. We received the total of 9 awards!

  • Eva Vertes, Coller's lab, for her application entitled " Resistance of Skeletal Muscle to Metastases: Identifying skeletal muscle-derived anti-tumor agents as potential cancer therapeutic agents"
  • Elizabeth Pollina, Coller's lab, for her application entitled "Angiogenesis Factors in Growing, Quiescent, and Tumor Associated Fibroblast".
  • Danielle Ponzio, Gammie's lab, for her application entitled "Saccharomyces cervisiae DNA Mismatch Repair and MSH2 Regulation in Response to DNA Damaging Agents: Identification of Regulatory Promoter Elements and Transcription Factors".
  • Alicia Hayes, Gammie's lab, for her application entitled " Regulation of Mismatch Repair Components: Implications for Hereditary Non-Polyposis Colorectal Cancer"
  • Carol Yan, Kang's lab, for her application entitled "The Seed and Soil Hypothesis Revisited Through a Molecular Imaging Model".
  • Robert Chong, Kang's lab, for his application entitled "Understanding the Epigenetic Mechanism of Regulation in Cancer Metastasis".
  • Eugene Fan, Shi's lab, for his application entitled "Structure-function relationship of B'γ subunit in Protein Phosphatase 2A".
  • Amy Wasterlain, Zakian's lab, for her application entitled "The role of the DNA helicase Rrm3p and essential sister chromatid cohesion proteins in maintaining genomic integrity throughout the cell cycle".
  • Christian Thériault, Soboyejo's lab, for his application entitled "The use of nanoparticles in nude mice as a way to both detect and to treat cancer".  This application was submitted through MAE department.
